Our Favorites in New Orleans

Visiting New Orleans soon? As one of the most vibrant cities in the US, NOLA is overflowing with soulful music, delicious cuisine, historic landmarks, and a unique mix of spirituality, art, and nightlife.

While you can find incredible food, rich history, and stunning architecture around every corner, we’ve narrowed it down to One More Night’s current favorites. From Michelin Key boutique hotels tucked away with garden patios to must-visit spots for food and drinks.

The Columns Hotel

The Columns Hotel is a Michelin key gem nestled in the Garden District. Inside the hotel, you will find deep history, high ceilings, and immaculate Victorian interiors. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this landmark celebrates the beauty of the original building while allowing space for modern amenities, allowing you to reach maximum comfort. Guests can unwind in the lush, newly imagined garden or on the iconic patio overlooking the streetcars of St. Charles Avenue. The atmosphere is intimate and homey, while staying luxurious. Sink into a velvety armchair at the bar to enjoy a menu of artisanal bites and creative cocktails. You can even rent vintage attire on-site at ‘The Closet.” With a calendar always full of local events, it’s a property worth following closely for a true taste of the Garden District.

The Garden District Book Shop

Located at The Rink in the Garden District is an essential shop for the literature lover. The Garden District Book Shop offers an extensive selection of books on the rich history and culture of New Orleans and Louisiana. Owners Barkley Rafferty and Carroll Gelderman have transformed this space into a vibrant community hub, keeping the love for reading alive in an increasingly digital world. The shop also features Bar Epilogue, a signature bar that invites you to linger over a drink and a good book. Grab a seat, lose yourself in a new book, and keep an eye out for Pete, the shop’s famous silver lab.

Hotel Saint Vincent

A meticulously restored 1861 treasure, this Michelin Key hotel is a gem in the Garden District. Originally founded as an orphanage by Margaret Haughery, the property has been transformed into a modern retreat that remains deeply rooted in the New Orleans community. Experience the property’s charm by starting your morning with a jazz brunch at San Lorenzo, finding midday serenity beside the palm-tree lined pool, and conclude your evening with a cocktail at the exclusive Chapel Club.

Salon Salon

Salon Salon is located within the Maison Métier Hotel in the heart of the city. It is the perfect cocktail bar for conversation and creative cocktails. The space is dimly lit, lined with a curated library of bookshelves. Guests sink into plush sofas surrounded by funky carpets and vibrant red walls. The deviled eggs and truffle pommes frites are essential to any order. The cocktail program is equally flavorful; don’t leave without trying the Hattori Hanzõ, a bold, gin-based creation that uses umami bitters to create a savory flavor profile that will have you ordering another round.

Café Beignet

You can’t leave New Orleans without biting into a fresh, hot beignet and sipping a café au lait. Café Beignet offers several storefronts in the French Quarter, ranging from the intimate charm of their Royal Street location to the vibrant energy of their outposts on Canal and Bourbon Street—where the beignets are accompanied with a side of live jazz or cocktails. Our golden rule: don’t wear black.

Muriel’s Seance Lounge

Located on the second floor of Muriel’s Jackson Square, visiting is a must for lovers of the haunted and historic. Reopened in 2001 after restoration to capture the essence of its 1800s origins, the design honors its origins as a private home. The lounge invites guests to lounge among patterned silks and curated curiosities that bridge the gap between restaurant and residence. Years of paranormal investigations have documented mysterious shadows and unexplainable echoes throughout the property. Downstairs, they even keep a table permanently set with bread and wine for their resident ghost.

Restaurant R’evolution

Located on Bourbon Street, Restaurant R’evolution offers a fine-dining escape for those looking for refined flavors and expert hospitality. Located inside the Royal Sonesta, the menu is a tribute to the diverse cultural tapestry of New Orleans. With modern and elevated twists on classic Creole and Cajun dishes, every bite is full of flavor, passion, and tradition. Chef John Folse brings his lifelong relationship with the Mississippi River to the kitchen, infusing every dish with authentic flavors. The carefully curated menu also spotlights the culinary contributions of the seven primary nations that inhabit New Orleans, using native ingredients and culinary traditions.

Don’t miss out on the menu staples: The Blue Crab Beignets, Death by Gumbo, and Fire Roasted Oyster Lafitte.

Preservation Hall

A French Quarter icon, Preservation Hall is more than your typical jazz bar. Its mission transcends performance; it is a sanctuary dedicated to the protection and preservation of the city’s musical soul. Beyond the stage, it serves as a support system for the elder members of the jazz community. What began as informal jazz sessions has evolved into a global masterclass in musical history and heritage. The experience here is acoustic with a no phones policy. A small crowd gathers for a deeply moving, inspirational, and raw session. Whether you are a lifelong fan of jazz or a curious newcomer, a night at Preservation Hall will prove that music transcends time.
